nijiri is a Japanese tea project founded by those who believe that tea is a quiet yet powerful switch.
Rooted in deep respect for traditional Japanese tea, we reimagine the tea experience for the modern world.
We specialize in kamairicha, a rare pan-fired green tea, directly sourced through dialogue with small, independent farmers across Japan. Every tea we select carries not only rich flavor, but also the stories and connections behind it.
Born between Tokyo and Los Angeles, nijiri blends the traditions of Japanese tea with street culture, mindfulness, and modern minimalism.
The name "nijiri" is inspired by the nijiriguchi — the small, humble entrance to a traditional Japanese tea room. Just like bowing your head and stepping through that low doorway, we hope to create a quiet shift in your heart with each cup.
Every tea we offer is chosen because it moved us.
Through the experiences and conversations that unfold from that first sip, we aim to build a community that values authenticity over perfection.
For us, tea is more than just a drink.

FOUNDER'S STORY
There was a quiet yet certain conviction at the beginning of nijiri:
Tea is not just a drink.It is a small switch — a way to quietly return to yourself, and to start moving forward once again.
Like many founding stories, nijiri was born from a personal journey of exploration.Traveling across California, immersing myself in cafe culture and urban life,I realized that true expressions of Japanese tea were still rare.
I felt there was a need for a tea experience that was more honest, more essential,and more naturally connected to the way we live today.
After returning to Japan, I traveled across the country once again,
meeting farmers, sharing dialogues, and slowly shaping nijiri into what it is today.
nijiri is an extension of my own values:
・To live beyond rigid frameworks, while always cherishing what is essential.
・To believe in the quiet power of honest craftsmanship.
・To cultivate choices that are kind to both the heart and the body.
